Technology start-ups, especially web-based or mobile-based, are flourishing in the modern era. Digital apps in particular continue to rule the scene of modern day entrepreneurship. Unlimited number of start-ups are created every year in the hopes of being the nest Instagram, Facebook or Uber.

eDrone.me

The app is positioned as a CRM, an approach used to manage interaction between the company and its customers - current and potential. The amount of data handled and processed by the system is quite impressive. But this can be due to the fact that they have designed a machine learning algorithm that not only provides insight but also allows one to take actions that increase the life time value of the customer through a number of – simple to use and integrate – tools. It has about a gagillion integrations already, from Magento, Woocommerce to Shopify and Opencart.

They also allow their users to use their app for free which is an added bonus.

TypingDNA

It is now an acceptable truth that “Future is AI” just like the fact that the earth revolves around the sun. The team behind TypingDNA are trying to shape this future in their own way by using machine learning to develop behavioural biometrics solutions. It’s true that there are an unlimited number of applications that are doing this. Imagine not having to remember a password. Ever! TypingDNA are doing this by authenticating a user through his or her typing patterns. They have published certain studies and data that proves that it is wonderful way to secure your system and an easy one at that. One doesn’t require any special hardware or software for this as is the case in most biometrics authentication like retina scan, fingerprint scan, etc.

SwiftKey

This is no new startup but they have been a huge success in the past year and are planning on some new features this year. They have already done wonderful work in the field for example collaborating with Professor Stephen Hawking, who was diagnosed with ALS, to improve his communication skills. Also SwiftKey has done some amazing work when it comes to working with multiple languages, one doesn’t have to configure settings or change parameters for different languages. It will be a delight to see what they have in store for us in 2018.

Snips.ai

There have been multiple similar products with big promises but deliver so little. Snips offers a powerful NLU which is short for Natural Language Understanding system that runs on the users device contrary to the Cloud like all the other similar system do, which provides better security and privacy. Snips allows users to build their own voice assistants for free according to the user’s need. Best of all, the assistant runs on-device and works offline.

Hundred

Hundred website look

Hundred5 is a hiring platform created by an Estonian team. The recruiting tool automatically screens candidates’ capabilities for the job as a first-pass filter. It makes sure that the people you interview are apt for the role you are looking for along which it also asses the fact that they have what it takes to be successful in a remote work environment.

With that in mind, Hundred5 has discarded resume as a main screening tool by replacing it with skill assessments. Along with saving a lot of time, all of these tests strongly predict success in real work scenario and tell you something which can’t be learnt from resumes. CV’s are more about how well someone can present themselves rather than telling about one’s skills and abilities, which might cause you to choose an unsuitable applicant.

Teamweek

This platform allows the team manager to assign tasks to different members on the timeline and the whole team stays in the loop with the knowledge of every individual’s responsibilities. Just like Hundred5, Teamweek is also based in Estonia. The company was founded by Toggl, it parted ways in 2017 and became an independent platform. Teamweek is a successfully bootstrapped product that shows a lot of promise in coming years.
